Vaping and electronic cigarettes seem to be all over the news nowadays.
Big tobacco wants you to think that it's just another dangerous crutch that will more quickly lead you to death. They want you to think that all the fun flavors are meant to attract teenagers into vaping - meant to get them addicted to nicotine.
Other news stories are aimed at making the whole vaping culture seem like it's nothing more than a fad - something that will meteorically rise in popularity and then die out just as quickly. They do stories on cloud competitions, on the massive waits people are willing to go through for the next new mod (the actual e-cigarette device) or RBA (this stands for ReBuildable Atomizer - it's the drip tips and tanks vapers use to heat the e-juice/e-liquid in order to vape.)
They also do news stories to try and make the public at large think the vaping community is full of drug-addled addicts, using the advanced technology in order to get a more intense high from their marijuana, meth, crack, etc.
But what is the real story? As with anything that gets such high news coverage, the truth gets buried underneath all the sensationalism and lies they want you to believe.
I actually started vaping for reasons other than to quit smoking. (Don't get me wrong - I am a reformed smoker, but quitting never affected me like it does most people who are addicted to smoking. I started for other health reasons which I will address with its own post.) I started with the "blu" brand of e-cigs, "graduated" to a Voodoo e-pen, and only recently discovered the world of unregulated mechanical/hybrid mods, regulated variable wattage/variable voltage mods, RDAs (Rebuildable Drip Atomizers), and tanks.
It's a mighty, mighty vape world out there.
I intend to use this blog to share articles that deal with the truth about e-cigarettes and vaping; reviews of the e-juices/e-liquids people can find out there (as I keep saying, life is too short to suffer bad juice!); actual stories about vapors I know and how this new world changed their lives for the better; memes about vaping; and, once I'm more comfortable with what's out there, reviews on different hardware you can pick up (possibly even sharing others' reviews [with their permission, of course]).
The main purpose, though, is to share how much fun and how close knit this community I've become a part of truly is.
